Title: Career's Advice Artist: remecielAuthor: aillilSummary: Sirius receives career's advice in his fifth year. Disclaimer: I don't see the inventor of these characters ever spending so much time with them, so, not mine I'm afraid. Rating: G Author's Note: This is my answer to challenge no. 14: "Sirius receives career's advice." Yonks late, I know, but still. Word Count: 3,109 Thanks: are due to honeybean who bore with me despite me being obnoxious and betaed this twice. Thank you very much. :) Dedication: This was written on the occasion of lyras' birthday, April 2006. :) As it originated in a challenge from this community, however, I post it here, too. Hi, everyone. If what I tried to do has worked, posting access to sirius_loving is now restricted to - well, me. I've done this for two reasons. The first is that this community was never intended to be a long term thing. It was a send off. A festival. A shiva visit. Not a place to pimp fanfic or artwork that was created long after the deadline (November 1st) passed. Secondly, I got tired of chasing after people who didn't follow the community's rules when posting. (The rules are in the userinfo. They've been there since last autumn.) This isn't directed at any one person. No one tipped the scales. This is something I've been thinking of doing for a while. If you've got a Sirius-centric fic or piece of artwork, and you want to pimp it, please check out sirius_centric. I don't want to steal their thunder anymore. :) If you've got a late entry for the fest, of course you're still more than welcome to post it here! Just let me know, and I'll give you posting access. Meantime, this community isn't going anywhere. At some point, when I've got lots of time, I'll tag each entry, for easy navigation. It will always been here as a tribute to Sirius Black. And of course, members and non-members can still comment. Thank you so much for your participation. It had its bumpy moments, but this project was a labor of love, and I'm really, really grateful to all of you. Thanks. :)

Title: Fading Into Grey Pairings: None Rating: PG Genre: Marauders Summary:
Do you think it’s easy to run from your family?
What if you had to turn your back on a brother you love and leave him behind to fend for himself in a house of horrors? It’s not easy when that brother is someone you’ve played pirates and vampires in the garden with, explored your ancient house with, bathed and napped together as children…a brother so close but yet so different.
What if all you wanted was to please your parents but they saw you as nothing but a defiant child. A mother is someone with an open heart who should accept you no matter what. What if all you want is for your mother to love you for who you are but when she looks at you all you can see is loathing and disgust reflecting in her grey eyes?
When Sirius Black is ten years old, everything in his life is black and white. He is a wizard. He is the heir to his most noble house. He is eager to please and willing to be everything his parents have ever dreamt for him.
Then, at Hogwarts with the ability to explore the world differently he starts to question what he has been taught his whole life and finds that even though he is a brilliant wizard and studies and most things come easy to him there is still so much he needs to learn about life outside of Grimmauld Place.
Follow along with me as Sirius Black’s world starts Fading Into Grey.
Warnings: Abuse Disclaimer: Not mine, I like many of you, just love to play with them

Albus Dumbledore got a funeral. Even Aragog got one. Not only has Sirius Black not had a memorial of any kind, he hasn't even been pardoned for the crimes he didn't commit. That's why this community exists. We're here to give Sirius the send-off he deserves.
We'll do it with fan fiction, fan artwork, essays, and whatever else we think of. Any and all Sirius-centric ships (and gen, of course) are welcome. This is a fandom-wide celebration.
This is a celebration. We're toasting a character, which means that while we're acknowledging his flaws (and he does have a few, and we love him despite them, or perhaps even for them) the emphasis is on his good qualities. |
